Who packs the tool bag for spacewalks? The Extravehicular Activity (EVA) Office! Tamra George is a hardware manager for the EVA office. She works with a team that designs and builds tools for astronauts to use outside the spacecraft. Astronauts wear spacesuits to protect them from the radiation, vacuum and extreme temperatures. Their tools need to be functional in those environments. They also have to be easy to handle while wearing thick gloves, a big helmet and a huge backpack! Tamra and her team stay in radio contact with the astronaut during the actual spacewalk
